How do you post a video?

Okay, I'm calling for all of your expertise. I have a video that I want to upload. I click the video icon and load the video desired, but it takes FOREVER to upload and I never know if it's actually going to post. Does it take a long time for you to post a video? I know other people do it because I see if on their blogs, but I haven't been able to be successful yet. Help anyone!
