Vacation!!!

So we went to LA for four days. It was sooo nice to be away from our life in Arizona! What a couple of days can do! We just relaxed and were bumps on a log! Saturday we stayed at my parents house and played the Wii with my brother, Brian, and my sister, Diana. We went out to dinner. That night my other brother, John, came out and joined us while they played golf on the Wii. Later that night us girls watched a movie. Sunday we went to my parent's ward. It was nice to see my leaders and some people I went to school with. After sacrament meeting we came home and ate lunch and went to visit the couple that Kevin lived with while we lived there. We then went to our old schools and took pictures and reminisced. We came home and ate dinner (one of my favorite dinners...chicken catachotorre- no idea how to spell it). Monday we went to the beach. That night we went out to dinner at a Thai restaurant. That night we went to the Seal Beach pier and met up with my flute teacher from high school. It was really nice to spend time with her and her husband. She meant so much to me when I was in high school & college. I'm glad that I was able to find her a couple of months ago. Then Tuesday we just laid around the house. Kevin and I went to the place where he bought my engagement ring to see if they could fix one of my prongs. They ended up resizing both rings and sautered them together. So my ring is back to new and looks GREAT! Then last night before we had to leave we had a family barbeque. After that we had to head back to AZ. We finally got back to Mesa at 2:30 this morning.

Today we're getting things done around the house. We had to take Kevin's car into Midas this morning because a service light turned on last night while we were driving back. There's a leak in the emissions system. They have to smoke his car to see where the leak is. Then there's also going to replace the oil gasket because his car has been leaking for awhile. So fun to come home to auto repairs. But we were very excited to have had a vacation.

On a bright note: we just had the financial interview aspect to get Kevin's mom on long-term insurance. She's eligible. Now we're just going to have the medical interview. So there's some progress there.....

Tomorrow we got back to work. I'm sure most of you have heard AIG in the news lately. I'll go into work tomorrow to see what's going on. According to my underwriter, we don't have anything to worry about...but you know me... So we'll see...

Quote of the Week

"We are often left to work out problems, without the dictation or specific direction of the Spirit. That is part of the experience we must have in mortality. Fortunately, we are never out of the Savior's sight, and if our judgement leads us to actions beyond the limits of what is permissible and if we are listening to the still small voice, the Lord will restrain us by the promptings of His Spirit." - Elder Dallin H. Oaks

"We don't have to be perfect today. We don't have to be better than someone else. All we have to do is to be the very best we can." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
