Give us a break!

So I check the mail today and I find a letter from our HOA. First thought...what could they want now? 1. we took out the weeds last weekend, 2. there's no dead tree branches on the ground, 3. our trash can is in the backyard out of view...what more could they possibly want from us? I read the "violation": Please trim tree branches up from ground. Please trim plant material and/or trees in your front yard. So in between having to deal with Kevin's mom and all that has entailed in the last two months, working full-time, and trying to stay alive we now must once again deal with our stinkin' Mesquite tree that is way out of control and we absolutely hate. Our dilemma...once we do trim it what do we do with the dead branches? The HOA told us we can't deposit them in the orange dumpsters that are around the neighborhood for construction, and they don't give us a separate trash can for grass, trees branches, etc...so do we fill up our trash can...what about our actual trash? They seriously pay someone to drive around the neighborhood and find all these stupid things. I want that job! And now we have to find the time to do it...we have 10 days to do it...this weekend we're going to LA for five days. The following weekend we're hoping to attend a ward campout... Kevin doesn't get home until after 8pm during the week...AGAIN...where are we supposed to put all the branches once it's done? Sometimes I wish I could tell the HOA to get a life. We pay you $72 a month anyway...what more do you want? Is it really going to make the neighborhood look bad if our tree branches touch the ground? Seriously?! What next?....

Quote of the Week

"We are often left to work out problems, without the dictation or specific direction of the Spirit. That is part of the experience we must have in mortality. Fortunately, we are never out of the Savior's sight, and if our judgement leads us to actions beyond the limits of what is permissible and if we are listening to the still small voice, the Lord will restrain us by the promptings of His Spirit." - Elder Dallin H. Oaks

"We don't have to be perfect today. We don't have to be better than someone else. All we have to do is to be the very best we can." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
